Bald Head Island| Challenge!

Do you think I can pull this off? Lisa, Mark and myself painted the stairwell last night, in hopes of creating an underwater scene. How amazing is it going to be, walking up this stairwell feeling like you are swimming with the sea turtles, sting rays and any other animals I can think of? I have till Wednesday, then I have to be back in Baltimore for my class! I'll keep you updated on this new project! Here are some pictures of where we are right now! I better leave this coffee shop and get cracking! (We still have to finish up the base coat!)

Bald Head Island| Project Update

The back porch

Finally, here is an update on my travels to Bald Head Island, NC. I arrived here on Monday with Scott, recovered after the drive, and started to paint. We had no time to waste. Scott had the toughest job of all, painting the tippidy top with the blue for the sky, as I worked from the bottom up creating the first layer for the mural. He flew out on Wednesday, and I've been finalizing things ever since. Ok, so maybe I've been a bit over indulgent in looking at the scenery and taking my rides on the 7 mile loop. Tomorrow will be interesting with a 3 hr ride ahead of me! There are also pictures from my room and the back porch which overlooks the ocean. Do you blame me for not wanting to leave?

Sea Side Bathroom: Cape Cod Inspired

Sophisticated Office

You might be surprised to see me using stencils. I've been very against them, but do not fear you can not go buy this stencil at any store. I did use store bought stencils, but I modified it to be unique for my client. No one likes walking into another house and seeing the same thing that's in your house!

Formal Bathroom

This is what we started out with. I had a dusty rose straight painting on the top, but having such an ornate bottom half in the formal bathroom, we knew something had to be done. This is the top 1/2 that I came up with. I fauxed the top with the same colors that were in the bottom, then added some texture, in the form of ferns and gold leafed them.

The ceiling...

A view walking into the bathroom.
