Color Change | Deep Purple to Leather

Here a color change was needed. The original color was stunning, but created problems with the curtains that were specifically made for this room. With a color wash I was able to keep the original color, while modifiying the glaze to work with the curtains. The Entrance always seemed very dark to my client so I did the same faux that I did in the Bookshelf (see entry below). I faded out the darker color and replaced it with the lighter one, which made everything lighter. When standing in the familyroom, it seems like the light is creating the warmer feeling when it's actually different colors!

Leather Faux

Here is a picture of 1/2 of a wall that I fauxed. I wanted to show how you can handle color and texture in an open floor plan. It is a wonderful leather look, which matchs the sofa which is in the sitting room, not show in the picture. I'm always disapointed in how faux finishes photograph. Hopefully you can make out the Faux, it's stunning in person!
